IPM-P in-line laser power monitoring system: real-time power measurement for CW and pulsed lasers on production lines. 300–1750nm, 0.5W–20kW, ±1% accuracy, 1k–200k sampling, waveform display, power alarms and remote data access. Integrated by Beipin into laser welding, cutting and cleaning systems....

  • Measures laser output power in-line, without stopping production
  • For CW and pulsed lasers, 300–1750nm
  • 0.5W–20kW measuring range, ±1% accuracy
  • 1k–200k sampling rate with power waveform display
  • Power alarms and long-term power trend records
  • 24V DC supply, fits into existing laser systems

Beipin IPM-P measures the actual output power of your laser in real time, directly on the production line. Laser power drops slowly as the source ages, and dirty optics or damaged lenses reduce the energy reaching the part. Welding, cutting and cleaning quality drift with it. IPM-P sits in the laser system, reads power values and waveforms continuously, and raises an alarm when power leaves the set range, so you catch the problem before a batch goes bad. Beipin selects the configuration and integrates it into your equipment.

How it differs from a laboratory power meter

Laboratory power meterIPM-P
Where it is usedLab, maintenance checksAutomated production
MeasurementManual, with the machine stoppedIn-line, in real time
Power feedbackOne reading at the time of measurementLive power value and waveform
AlarmNoneAlarm when power is out of range

A laboratory power meter is the right tool for absolute measurement and calibration. IPM-P watches power continuously during production. The two work well together.

Typical applications

Two examples of IPM-P mounted in a laser processing system
Two examples of IPM-P mounted in a laser processing system
  • Lithium batteries: integrated in a 355nm 15W laser system to monitor power for separator cutting, pouch film cutting and tab tape cleaning.
  • Automotive parts: integrated in a 1080nm 2000W laser system to monitor output power.
  • Precision laser welding: use it together with BP-OCT weld depth monitoring: one checks that laser power is stable, the other checks that weld depth is sufficient.

Software and data

The software shows the live power value and power curve, records long-term power changes, and raises an alarm when power crosses the upper or lower limit. Data can be accessed remotely, and the interface can be adapted to your line.

Dimensions

IPM-P is compact and runs on 24V DC, so it can be added to existing laser equipment. Mounting position and interface are confirmed for your laser model, beam path and machine layout.

Information we need

Laser type (CW or pulsed), wavelength, power range, application (welding, cutting or cleaning), available mounting space, and whether data must go to MES or a host PC.

FAQ

Which lasers can IPM-P measure?

CW and pulsed lasers from 300 to 1750nm, covering common 355nm UV, 532nm green and 1064/1070/1080nm infrared lasers, at 0.5W to 20kW.

How accurate is it?

Accuracy is ±1%, non-linearity ±1%, and the sampling rate is 1k–200k.

How do the power alarms work?

You set upper and lower power limits for your process. When the actual power leaves that range, IPM-P raises an alarm so you can check the laser, beam path and optics before producing scrap.

Can it connect to MES?

Remote data access is supported and the interface can be customized. The communication method is agreed during the proposal stage.
